Revolutionizing Gas Storage Monitoring: Paulsson and PG&E Harness Optical Fiber Technology for Real-Time Insights
Paulsson, in collaboration with Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), has implemented cutting-edge optical fiber technology to monitor the McDonald Island Underground Gas Storage (UGS) field. Utilizing Enhanced Distributed Acoustic Sensor (EDAS) and Distributed Temperature Sensor (DTS) arrays, we can gather real-time data from deep underground, providing a more accurate and sensitive method for tracking gas storage operations.
This innovative approach not only enhances the safety and efficiency of gas storage but also positions PI at the forefront of underground storage monitoring technologies.
